Clearbox Systems continues to support TXA National Monitoring System

Multiple agreements will provide upgrades, expansion and ongoing support for 5 years

23 January 2017

Sydney, Australia – TXA and Clearbox Systems have announced the signing of a number of agreements that will see the TXA National Monitoring System (NMS) upgraded, expanded and then supported for the next 5 years.

The TXA NMS has been in use for over a decade by both TXA and TV Network personnel to manage equipment at over 60 television transmission or retransmission sites around Australia. The TXA NMS is built upon the Kratos Networks Compass™ equipment monitoring and control (M&C) product. Compass is a suite of software components that are configured and developed by Clearbox Systems to make up the TXA NMS.

Timothy Neall, General Manager Operations at TXA said, “Our NMS is a critical piece of infrastructure used in operations by our customers and our engineers and technicians to ensure continuity of TV broadcast.” Michael Ryder, General Manager Engineering at TXA added, “Given the criticality of our NMS we wanted to make sure that it remains up to date and well supported into the future. These upgrades and the working relationship between our respective teams will ensure we have the best system possible.”

Jeremy Hallett, Executive Director at Clearbox Systems concluded, “We are proud to be able to continue our relationship with TXA. These agreements are testament to the effort that both TXA and Clearbox Systems have invested in our relationship at all levels. We are looking forward to providing assurance to TXA’s NMS operations well into the future.”

New Product: Spectre

Clearbox Systems presents Spectre – a high performance, scalable Analog RF to 10 GigE platform.

Spectre enables both Transmit and Receive RF applications from 400MHz to 4GHz at 200MHz bandwidth with streaming to and from

10Gbit/s Ethernet.

Rather than performing any on board processing Spectre hands off the digitised RF for processing elsewhere.

Spectre can be used as a desktop unit or as multiple units mounted in a chassis.

This flexibility means that Spectre is suitable for applications ranging from Research or Academia to Industrial or Military.

Spectre features a Xilinx Kintex XC7K160 FPGA and 512MB DDR3 RAM.

PRESS RELEASE: Monics from SAT Corporation and Foresight from Clearbox Systems

Monics from SAT Corporation and Foresight from Clearbox Systems to Monitor and Manage Communications Payload to Maintain Traffic Quality and Detect Interfering Carriers

SINGAPORE and COLUMBIA, Md., June 22, 2011 – Integral Systems, Inc., (NASDAQ: ISYS) announced today at the CommunicAsia 2011 exhibition and conference in Singapore, that its wholly-owned subsidiary, SAT Corporation, has successfully completed installation of a fully integrated carrier monitoring, satellite interference detection and spectrum scheduling system for MEASAT Satellite Systems (“MEASAT”).

SAT Corporation provided its industry-leading Monics® satellite signal interference monitoring, detection and analysis system at MEASAT Teleport and Broadcast Centre (MTBC), located in the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur. Monics gives MEASAT the ability to monitor payload traffic, and detect and analyze Radio Frequency (RF) interference, even if the interference is within the main carrier.

In addition, SAT Corporation deployed Foresight from its strategic partner, Clearbox Systems. The combination of Monics with Foresight gives MEASAT the ability to fully manage transponder traffic and to monitor, detect and analyze RF interference. MEASAT will also be able to manage transponder space by adding customer transponder leases and carriers to the database in real time.

Using SAT Corporation’s Digital Signal Processing (DSP) technology, Monics with SAT-DSP is a state-of-the-art RF monitoring system providing automatic carrier monitoring, and interference detection and analysis of MEASAT’s entire constellation of satellites. Monics’ unique algorithms automatically detect, characterize and display interfering signals, and allow results to be viewed at any time.

Foresight is a satellite spectrum scheduling tool for satellite operators and satellite users. When integrated with Monics, users are able to schedule carrier access, populate Monics databases and view in real-time tabulated carrier measurement parameters and graph trends by transponder. Foresight also integrates with COMPASS Network Management System (NMS) from Newpoint Technologies, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Integral Systems. Foresight with COMPASS optimizes workflow for carrier site construction and tear down.

Integral Systems and its family of companies – including SAT Corporation and Newpoint Technologies – will be exhibiting at CommunicAsia 2011, being held June 21 through 24 at the Marina Bay Sands Convention Center, Marina Bay Sands, Singapore. For additional information on SAT Corporation’s Monics Carrier Monitoring and RF Interference Detection system or COMPASS NMS from Newpoint Technologies, please visit booth 1R1-01.

Clearbox Systems to deliver WGS Ground Segment Management System

Clearbox Systems is excited to announce a new project win requiring Clearbox Systems to work with one of Australia’s largest Defence contractors, BAE Systems Australia.

The project, being the Ground Segment Management System (GSMS) component of the JP 2008 Phase 3F program, enhances and extends the Australian Defence Force Satellite Communications Capability (ADSCC) through the design and construct of a new satellite ground station and the introduction of a new agile network management system. The new satellite ground station will interface deployed forces accessing the Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) system with the Defence Wide Area Network, and Australian Defence.

Clearbox Systems will be contracted through Newpoint Technologies Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Integral Systems, Inc. The project is due to be operational by 2013. The win, worth in excess of AUD $1 million, underpins Clearbox Systems’ expertise in ground station management systems and its ability to deliver cutting-edge software systems.

When BAE Systems Australia invited US-based Newpoint Technologies to bid for the complex monitoring and control system, Newpoint Technologies recommended Clearbox Systems, its local Australian partner, for delivery of the project. Wally Martland, President of Newpoint Technologies Inc. stated, “We have a long history with Clearbox and they have more than proven their ability to deliver world-class systems. Their local presence and technical capabilities made this an easy decision for us.”

Clearbox will build on Newpoint Technologies’ Compass platform and the Monics system, provided by SAT Corporation, also a wholly owned subsidiary of Integral Systems, Inc. “Compass provides a mature and flexible platform upon which we can build some very sophisticated systems,” said Paul Solomon, Managing Director of Clearbox Systems. “It provides all the core functionality out of the box and allows us to focus on the key areas of customisation and innovation without needing to re-invent the wheel. One of its key strengths is its extensive open API which allows us to hook into any aspect of the system”.

The GSMS will provide the capability of automated service level management of satellite traffic, easing operator workload and providing failsafe uplink services. Securing this win moves Clearbox Systems one step closer to its goal of being the preeminent Australian Monitoring and Control solutions provider.
