Clearbox Systems was pleased to be able to participate alongside our industry, academic and Defence colleagues in the Australian Department of Defence SpaceFest activity for 2020.
We were able to demonstrate our Space Domain Awareness capabilities of our Passive Radio Frequency (RF) Sensor technology which we have deployed at our two current ground stations in Canberra and Adelaide.
Whilst our network is operating continuously, we estimate that in support of SpaceFest, over 5 sessions, we collected data on 350 space objects, in multiple orbits (LEO, MEO, GEO, etc.,) totalling about 10TB of data. After completing our analysis this data will provided to Defence for further analysis.
Defence Minister, Senator the Hon Linda Reynolds CSC, noted: "These trials will provide an opportunity for Defence to assess and inform future capability acquisition projects for Defence space domain applications."
